Very little arrives looking wrong. It arrives as a statement with amended payment details, a delivery wanting confirmation, or a short note from the owner asking for something urgent and discreet. This claim puts the examination inside the mail system itself, and puts rehearsal alongside it, because the final component is a person with a great deal else to get through.
Ironscales joins Microsoft or Google from within, over the interfaces those platforms publish. Nothing about it sits in the delivery path ahead of them, which is why the word gateway is wrong here and is not used. Being inside is what lets it examine mail that already landed, and what lets one report from one alert person retrieve the same message from everywhere else it went.
It also means no delivery route is altered, no records change at your registrar, and there is no appliance in front of your mail waiting to stop answering at three in the morning. Post continues to arrive by the route it already used.
Rehearsal messages arrive through the year and a brief lesson follows for anybody who bites. No league table is kept and nobody gets named. What matters is that the person opening the post has already met the counterfeit statement once, in a week when meeting it cost nothing at all.
Reports coming in from staff feed the same engine that convicts mail, so one careful person raises the floor for everybody in the building. Most training programmes leave that loop out entirely, and the loop is the part which accumulates.
Two lines. Mailbox examination with rehearsal attached, and rehearsal by itself, for anybody wanting it without a mailbox line.
Placement is the whole distinction. Ironscales joins Microsoft or Google from within, over their own interfaces, rather than standing in the delivery path ahead of them. That is why it can examine what has already been delivered, and why a single message can be retrieved from all the places it landed. It is not a gateway. Training rides alongside because the message that succeeds is the one wearing a supplier's clothes.

Rehearsal messages on a rota, with a brief lesson for anybody who bites. Nothing here keeps score and nobody gets named. The aim is that whoever opens the post has already met the counterfeit invoice once, in a month when it cost nothing, and knows that flagging something harmless is never held against them.

Worth reading twice. A claim with no stated boundary is one nobody bothered to examine.
